Very good position, clean, cheap.
Staff does not speak any English, small room - a little noisy.

It is very close to the Flamingo park and beach, and close to the metro station of catete. You can walk up to St. Teresa
The hotel is a little run down, with old furniture and an old bathroom.

Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Room was of a decent size and had everything I needed. Convenient location: in a nice area, opposite a park and just down the road from local shops/restaurants, a metro station, and bus stops.
No real problems, but some of the power sockets were a bit finicky. Wireless internet was available but expensive (hourly rate).

The only thing the hotel had in its favor was the location.
My TV did not work. They made no attempt to fix it. Their elevator was a death trap. When I tried to free myself after being trapped I got shocked. I ask for a big bed. I recieved a twin and a regular bed that kept sliding appart when ever you turned. for the money it was a very poor value

Good location, clode to Catete Metro. Can easily catch any buses to other places in Rio.
The air conditioner in the room is too old, the control panel is not functioning (temperature cannot be adjusted), the adjustable louvers were missing...I ended up have to cover the blower with cloth, cause it was too cold when I turned it on...

Its convenient location to Metro.Very authentic orange juice for breadfast.
It would be great if the staff could converse in simple English - to facilitate our conversation.

The location is excellent, close to metro station, santos dumont airport, and to lots of restaurants
It is very expensive to use the hotel telefone, even for local calls. Also better bath towels would be nice

Wonderful location across from garden of the Catete Palace, between Flamengo and Glória.
The dark, small halls, dark small rooms.

Friendly and helpful staff. One block from the metro station and the House of the Republic
I tried to contact them regarding a confusion on the booking system (actually, it was a problem generated by Booked.net), but they did not answer. To their credit, they fixed the problem in situ with out any complications. Room was smaller than I hoped.

Terrible place. Not worth the little money spent. Dirty linemen and pillow. Towers were stained and smelt of sweat.

Convenient location in nice area of Rio close to the metro and to fun places like Lapa. Staff tried hard to be helpful and were friendly but only one spoke any English.
For the same price I think significantly better hotels can be found in Rio. My room had air conditioning but it didn't work very well; the beds were damp and therefore the room smelt unpleasant. There is wifi but it costs a R$10 per hour (the internet cafe round the corner is half the price, and on this website it said the hotel wifi was R$5/hour). Lastly they charged the card I had used to make the reservation for the full hotel bill without first asking how I wanted to pay (I wanted to pay cash), and although they were able to refund the card I lost around £30 on the exchange rates and card fees.

We booked in here as we were going to be in Rio during in Carnaval, and by the time we were booking most hostels were booked out. However, this hotel worked out nearly the same as hostels were charging for that time of year (Carnaval). Had to book 5 nights but this seemed to be standard for any accomodation in Rio (and other areas of Brazil) during Carnaval. We booked a triple room which was a good size and had two bathrooms. Was also very close to the metro station.
The only real issue we had was that we booked in for 5 nights but the rooms were not cleaned once during our stay. The only thing that really needed changing was towels, as there were two bathrooms, but as we were backpacking we had our own (and we could have asked but didn't).

Clean. Good location.
Even though it was one of the cheapest hotels in Rio, I was able to find another hotel in the area of almost half the price - not a nice though of course. Booked.net should include real backpacker/budget places as well.
